Section 1

Hiring in Brazil: overview

Brazil offers a substantial market for engineering, commercial, finance and customer-service teams. An Employer of Record (EOR) can employ your selected workers locally while your business directs their daily work, without first establishing its own Brazilian subsidiary. The EOR signs the employment agreement, administers payroll and benefits, and handles employer reporting. Your service agreement determines how those responsibilities and costs are allocated.

The decision is about more than speed. Brazil’s employment system combines national protections, collective agreements and local payroll administration. A low monthly EOR fee says little about the total cost of employment or the quality of Portuguese-language employee support. Compare the actual employing company, the applicable collective agreement, the full annual budget and the arrangements for ending or transferring employment.

This guide explains the hiring decisions first, then presents ten prominent providers and the full alphabetical directory of 149 providers and service brands. Neither list is a ranking. Related brands are counted together. The shortlist helps narrow an initial search; the detailed evidence explains what to verify before signing. Reviewed 2 November 2026.

Section 2

EOR, your own entity or contractors?

An EOR is usually worth considering for initial hires, a small continuing team or expansion while an entity is being established. A Brazilian subsidiary may make more sense when you need a substantial permanent operation, local commercial infrastructure or direct control of employment. Compare the cost of the EOR over your expected headcount and duration with incorporation, accounting, payroll, legal support and eventual closure costs.

“EOR” is a commercial service description, not a blanket exemption from Brazilian employment law. Ask the provider to explain the legal structure for your particular roles and how it manages direction of work, supervision and employer obligations. Brazil’s Law 6,019 distinguishes outsourced services from temporary work; temporary-work rules should not be assumed to apply to every ongoing EOR engagement. Outsourcing can leave the client with subsidiary liability for employment obligations. Owning a CNPJ does not by itself establish that every proposed arrangement is compliant.

A contractor or personal service company (often called a PJ) is a different arrangement. A company registration and monthly invoices do not settle worker classification when the facts resemble employment. Review personal service, regularity, payment and subordination under the Consolidation of Labour Laws (CLT). An EOR also does not automatically resolve your company’s corporate-tax presence, immigration permissions or regulated-business obligations.

Section 3

How to compare Brazilian EOR providers

Start with the employer named in the draft employment contract. Obtain its full legal name, CNPJ, registered address and evidence of the ownership relationship to the brand selling the service. Ask explicitly whether another company employs the worker. An office, recruitment registration or broad coverage claim is not the same evidence as an owned employing entity.

Then ask who actually runs payroll and supports employees in Portuguese: the provider’s own team, a group company or an outside administrator. Outsourcing a specialist task is different from subcontracting the employment relationship. Get a named escalation contact, payroll deadlines and a process for handling errors. For multi-country hiring, check each country separately; an owned model in Brazil does not establish the same model everywhere.

  • Request a sample employment agreement and identify the applicable collective agreement and salary floor.
  • Compare a twelve-month employment budget using the same salary, location, benefits and start date.
  • Ask for an anonymised payroll breakdown, evidence of statutory remittances and a Brazil client reference relevant to your roles.
  • Agree on deposits, foreign-exchange margins, annual adjustments, termination costs and refunds before funding payroll.
  • Define the process for moving employees to your own entity, including continuity of service, accrued rights and data handover.
Section 4

What does employing someone in Brazil cost?

Separate the provider’s service fee from the employee’s salary, statutory employer charges, benefits and reserves. Quotes should identify the employing entity’s actual tax regime and contribution treatment; a universal percentage uplift can conceal material differences. Employee deductions for income tax and social security should also be distinguished from costs borne by the employer.

Budget itemWhat to check
Gross salaryMonthly BRL salary, applicable national/state or collective floor, commissions and overtime.
13th salaryA full year normally earns an extra month, with proportional entitlement for part years.
Annual leavePaid leave plus the constitutional one-third bonus; distinguish cash funding from accounting reserves.
FGTSGenerally 8% of covered remuneration for ordinary CLT employees, paid by the employer.
Other employer chargesApplicable social-security, occupational-risk and third-party contributions, with bases and rates itemised.
BenefitsCollective-agreement requirements, transport where applicable, meal benefits and agreed health cover.
EOR chargesMonthly fee, setup, deposits, exchange spread, equipment, immigration and offboarding.

For a simple planning illustration, a fixed R$10,000 monthly salary gives R$120,000 over twelve months, plus R$10,000 in 13th salary and roughly R$3,333 in the one-third vacation bonus: R$133,333 before employer charges, benefits and the EOR fee. This assumes a full year and ordinary paid leave within the twelve salary months. It is not an all-in quote; do not add another full month of vacation salary twice. Variable compensation and specific circumstances change the calculation.

Sources: 13th-salary legislation; Constitution, Article 7; FGTS contribution guidance.

Section 5

Contracts and onboarding

Use a written agreement that the employee understands, normally in Portuguese, with any English translation aligned to it. Confirm role, remuneration, work location, hours, benefits, confidentiality, intellectual property, equipment and remote-work expenses. Ordinary indefinite employment and a fixed-term contract are not interchangeable. A probationary employment contract is generally limited to 90 days in total; its structure and any extension need to comply with the Consolidation of Labour Laws (CLT).

Before the start date, agree a checklist for identity and CPF details, bank information, right to work, occupational-health requirements and employment registration. The EOR should coordinate the admission information in eSocial and the digital employment record, not wait until the first payroll run to discover missing data. The official eSocial manual describes admission and preliminary-admission reporting.

Ask for a realistic start date tied to completed documents and registrations. A platform demonstration that takes minutes does not establish how quickly a particular employee can lawfully start. For foreign nationals, confirm the applicable immigration route separately.

Section 6

Working hours, payroll and collective agreements

The ordinary constitutional limits are eight hours per day and 44 per week, with overtime paid at least 50% above the normal rate. Collective agreements and lawful scheduling arrangements can alter the practical setup. Remote work does not automatically remove working-time obligations. Agree how overtime is authorised, recorded and funded, especially for employees supporting customers in other time zones. See Constitution, Article 7.

Ask the EOR to identify the applicable union category and collective agreement for the actual employer and employee. These can affect salary floors, annual increases, meal benefits, insurance, working time and other conditions. A generic Brazil benefits package is not enough to confirm what this hire must receive.

Set monthly cutoffs for variable pay, expenses, leave and changes. The EOR should explain BRL payment dates, payslips, employee withholding and employer remittances. FGTS Digital uses eSocial information for relevant collection processes; request a clear audit trail and a correction procedure. See FGTS Digital.

Section 7

Leave, benefits and the 13th salary

For an ordinary employee with the required attendance record, annual vacation entitlement is generally 30 calendar days after the acquisition period, with pay plus at least one-third. Leave can be split subject to legal conditions and employee agreement. Build a leave calendar with the EOR so entitlements are used and funded on time. Public holidays also depend on state and municipality; do not assume every employee follows only the national calendar. See Ministry of Labour guidance.

The 13th salary is a statutory entitlement, not a discretionary performance bonus. The first instalment is generally due by 30 November and the second by 20 December; proportional service and variable pay require the appropriate calculation. Ask whether the EOR collects a monthly reserve or invoices at payment time. See government guidance on 13th salary.

Maternity leave is generally 120 days, with extensions in applicable circumstances, including qualifying Empresa Cidadã arrangements. Confirm other family leave and sickness procedures against the current law and collective agreement. Health insurance and meal allowances may be contractual or collectively required; separate these from universal statutory entitlements. See Senate guidance on parental leave.

Section 8

Termination and moving to your own entity

Ask for a written termination estimate before communicating a decision to the employee. The reason for termination, service length, contract type and any protected status affect the process and cost. Typical items for an ordinary dismissal without cause include outstanding salary, proportional 13th salary, accrued or proportional vacation with the one-third addition, notice and the applicable FGTS termination payment. Different rules apply to resignation, mutual agreement, fixed-term expiry and dismissal for cause.

Notice is generally at least 30 days and can increase with service, up to 90 days for employer-initiated dismissal under the statutory rules. A dismissal without cause generally attracts a 40% compensatory payment on the relevant FGTS deposit base. The EOR must calculate the correct base and reporting obligations rather than simply applying a percentage to the last payslip. Sources: Law 12,506 on notice; FGTS Digital guidance.

If the EOR is a bridge to your own Brazilian entity, agree the transfer process at the start. Establish how tenure, leave balances, benefits and employment records will be treated, which parties sign the documentation and who bears any termination or transfer charges. A provider change should not be treated as an administrative click with no employment consequences.

Section 9

Nearshoring and day-to-day operations

Brazil can support substantial overlap with US working hours, particularly for teams based in São Paulo and other cities on Brasília time. Brazil has several time zones, and US seasonal clock changes alter the difference. Specify shared working hours for the employee’s actual location instead of promising that Brazil and the United States have the same time zone.

For technical hiring, assess the candidate pool beyond one city: São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Campinas and Recife feature in South’s Brazil developer hiring guide. Language ability, role seniority and collaboration experience need individual assessment. Agree who supplies equipment, handles repairs, reimburses home-office expenses and supports the employee in Portuguese.

Before sending employee documents across borders, define access controls, retention, security responsibilities and the relevant Brazilian data-protection arrangements. Also put confidentiality and intellectual-property terms into the employment and client contracts. Ask whether the proposed terms actually cover the work your employee will perform.

Section 10

A practical shortlist checklist

Choose three providers whose service model matches your plans: international breadth for several countries, or deeper Brazilian operations for a concentrated local team. Give all three the same hiring brief and request a written response covering legal employer, start date, collective agreement, total annual cost, benefits, employee support and exit terms.

A named case study is more useful when it identifies Brazil, the service delivered and a client representative. Provider-published results remain the provider’s account, not an independent audit. A regional example that does not identify the employees’ country is not a Brazil case study. Equally, a corporate acquisition or registered address demonstrates a presence but does not by itself prove ownership of the EOR employer.

Use the profiles below to narrow the search quickly, then confirm the specific employing entity and contract for your hire. Registration details reproduced by commercial company-data services are public-record leads, not fresh certified extracts or evidence of payroll funding.

Section 11

Prominent providers in Brazil

10 · A to Z · no ranking

This shortlist is intended to make it easier to choose a provider quickly. A prominent provider combines employment through its own entity in Brazil, without subcontracting the employment relationship, with either a wide international presence for multi-country hiring or a deep operational presence in Brazil: depth instead of width. Use the service profiles and Brazil-specific company details below to find the right fit for your expansion. All ten providers are listed alphabetically. There are no paid placements, editorial fees or sponsorship, and the order is not a ranking.

Deel

Deel employs staff through its own Brazilian entity and brings local employment administration into a global HR and payroll platform. Its Brazil EOR service covers employment contracts, onboarding, monthly payroll, tax administration and benefits, with employee documents and time off managed in one place. Employers can add local benefits such as meal vouchers and private health cover, while using the same platform for teams in other countries.

Beyond EOR, Deel supports contractor management and payments, HR administration, and payroll services for businesses with their own Brazilian entity. This breadth suits companies starting with a few Brazilian hires and developing a larger international workforce over time.

Deel’s expertise in Brazilian market entry is demonstrated through the Entain case study on its website. Deel EOR enabled the sports betting and gaming group to deploy its Brazilian team and maintain timely payments while its local entity was being established. Tom Brady, Head of Strategic Resourcing Relationships, Commercial, describes Deel’s role in the expansion, and the engagement saved more than 450 hours of entity-setup administration.

The EDGLRD case study on Deel’s website offers a complementary example of ongoing employment support in Brazil. Working with Hanna Azarenko, Head of HR, Deel handled Brazilian employees’ Portuguese-language documentation, statutory benefits and health insurance as part of the creative studio’s international workforce.

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Employment through an owned Brazilian company connects the employment contract, local payroll and benefits to one provider. This is useful when an overseas HR team wants a clear operational relationship for its first Brazilian employees.
  • Two named customer engagements illustrate different Brazil use cases: Entain’s market entry during entity formation and EDGLRD’s ongoing employment administration. Together they show experience with both expansion projects and day-to-day employee support.
  • Brazilian benefits and employee administration sit within the wider HR platform, helping managers coordinate documents, leave and payroll alongside staff elsewhere. This is particularly useful when a small central HR team supports several countries.
  • Payroll and contractor services provide additional options as the Brazilian operation develops. A business can compare EOR employment for initial hires with payroll support for a future subsidiary and separate arrangements for genuinely independent contractors.

✗ Watch out for

  • The starting EOR fee is a service charge, so the Brazil budget also needs salary, employer charges, 13th salary, vacation funding and chosen benefits. For a larger local team, compare the accumulated per-employee fee with the cost of your own entity and outsourced payroll.
  • An expansion involving EOR employees, contractors and a future subsidiary requires several service scopes. Agree the treatment of employee tenure, benefit continuity, leave balances and transfer costs before moving Brazilian staff between employment arrangements.

RemotePeople

RemotePeople is a US-headquartered global EOR that employs through its own entity in Brazil. Its Brazilian service brings together CLT employment contracts, payroll, statutory contributions, benefits administration and ongoing HR support. Local operations and substantial overlap with US working hours make it a practical partner for nearshoring, while its international coverage supports businesses hiring in several markets at once.

Its broader Brazil expansion services include recruitment, contractor management, payroll and company incorporation. This gives employers a route from sourcing their first Brazilian hire through EOR employment to building a local operation, with support for the administration that accompanies each stage.

RemotePeople’s expertise in Brazil hiring is demonstrated through the Corpay case study on its website. It began with hires in Brazil and South Africa in October 2022, then expanded from four countries to more than 40, employing approximately 400 people across the international programme over two years. Tracey Harvey, Director, Global Talent Acquisition – Strategy at Corpay, highlights the team’s responsiveness and willingness to develop solutions as the business expanded.

As Corpay’s airline service-centre operations grew, the partnership also incorporated timesheet-based payroll and variable pay for its Philippines team. The progression from early Brazilian hires to a substantial international programme makes the case particularly relevant to companies choosing a Brazil EOR with future multi-country growth in mind.

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Direct employment through its own Brazilian entity combines a local employment structure with a global service relationship. This suits US businesses that want Brazilian nearshore staff supported locally while coordinating HR and expansion from abroad.
  • Corpay provides a concrete example of Brazil forming part of the first stage of a much larger EOR programme. The same relationship grew across more than 40 countries, making it relevant to buyers evaluating both immediate Brazilian hiring and later expansion.
  • Recruitment, EOR, contractor management and incorporation cover several stages of entering Brazil. Employers can source talent, establish CLT employment and plan a future entity within a coordinated service relationship instead of separately sourcing every workstream.
  • The combination of account management and local payroll support is useful for Brazilian teams with changing headcount and variable compensation. Corpay’s wider programme also demonstrates experience adapting payroll workflows as operational requirements become more complex.

✗ Watch out for

  • The lowest advertised Select fee depends on country and employee-salary eligibility. Obtain the actual Brazil rate and separate salary, employer contributions, benefits, recruitment and incorporation charges so the commercial comparison reflects your planned team.
  • An EOR-to-entity expansion involves both company formation and employment changes. Set milestones for the Brazilian company’s registrations, payroll readiness and employee transfers; incorporation alone does not complete the transition for existing EOR staff.

Rippling

Rippling brings Brazilian EOR employment together with HR, payroll and IT administration. Its service supports hiring, local employment contracts, payroll and benefits while connecting employee information to onboarding, access to business applications and workforce reporting. This makes it particularly useful for companies that want their Brazilian hires managed within the same operating system as the rest of their workforce.

Alongside EOR, its Brazil offering covers contractor payments and tools for managing remote employees’ computers and applications. The combination is well suited to distributed teams: HR can coordinate a new employee’s start while IT prepares the access and equipment needed for productive work.

Rippling’s experience supporting Brazilian hiring is illustrated by The Channel Company case study on its website. Its move to Rippling brought HR, payroll, benefits and international operations into one platform, including EOR employment in Brazil, Japan, the UAE and Canada. The Brazil engagement shows how local hiring can form part of a broader effort to simplify international workforce administration.

The Channel Company
EOR employment within a multi-country expansion

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Brazilian employment can connect to HR and IT processes rather than sit in a separate payroll tool. For a distributed team, that helps coordinate onboarding, employee records and application access around the same start date.
  • The Channel Company case study includes Brazil within an international EOR rollout. It is a useful reference for employers bringing Brazilian hires into an existing global HR and payroll structure rather than treating the country as an isolated project.
  • Contractor payments and employee administration support organisations working with more than one engagement model in Brazil. Keeping those groups within a shared system can simplify oversight while maintaining the different employment and payment workflows.
  • Its Brazil hiring materials cover benefits, confidentiality, intellectual property and remote-work equipment as well as payroll. These are practical operational topics for technology and professional-services teams employing staff who work closely with overseas colleagues.

✗ Watch out for

  • The platform spans several products, so a Brazil EOR comparison needs a clear breakdown of the EOR fee, platform subscription and any HR or IT modules. A company needing only a handful of local employment contracts may use less of that wider functionality.
  • Connecting Brazilian payroll to company-wide workflows requires configuration of permissions, approval deadlines and local benefit data. Allow time for the Brazilian HR and payroll setup alongside the implementation of your global systems.

RootsEOR

RootsEOR specialises in Latin America, with direct operations in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay. Its Brazil EOR service combines local employment contracts, payroll, benefits and employee support with an on-the-ground country team. A dedicated account manager coordinates the relationship, making Roots a natural option for businesses that value regional depth and personal access to the people managing their workforce.

Brazil is led by Country Business Manager Mauricio A. Canero. Alongside EOR, Roots offers recruitment, local payroll processing for companies with their own entity, and contractor management. That service range can support a business from its first Brazilian employee through a wider regional team.

For employers expanding within Latin America, the appeal is continuity: recruitment, employment and payroll can be coordinated across neighbouring markets while retaining local specialists for Brazilian requirements. The focus is particularly relevant to SaaS, fintech, professional-services and customer-support teams building a regional presence.

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • A dedicated Brazilian country lead and local operating team give employers a direct route to people focused on their market. That can be valuable when decisions involve Brazilian payroll practices, benefits and employee communication rather than only platform administration.
  • Its five-country Latin American footprint fits businesses expanding from Brazil into nearby markets. Regional coordination can reduce the number of separate provider relationships while keeping country-specific employment and payroll work with local specialists.
  • Recruitment and EOR can be combined for a first Brazilian hire, while local payroll processing supports companies that later establish their own entity. This gives the client more than one operating model as its presence grows.
  • The dedicated-account approach suits employers that expect regular discussion about their team and expansion plans. A clear point of contact can help coordinate hiring dates, payroll inputs and employee matters across several Latin American countries.

✗ Watch out for

  • The regional focus is best suited to a Latin American expansion plan. A company expecting one provider to cover Brazil plus substantial operations in Europe or Asia should map those additional markets into its procurement decision.
  • Recruitment, contractor management, EOR employment and payroll for your own entity are separate scopes. Define the Brazilian service mix, employee-support responsibilities and transfer arrangements so that later growth does not create gaps between contracts.

South / Hire in South

South, also known as Hire in South, combines Latin American recruitment with EOR employment for Brazilian teams. It handles employment contracts, payroll, benefits and employee administration, helping overseas businesses turn a successful candidate search into an ongoing local employment relationship. Its service is especially relevant to US companies building nearshore engineering, marketing, sales and operations teams.

That recruitment-led approach brings Brazil-specific sourcing knowledge to the EOR engagement. Its developer-hiring work spans São Paulo and other technology hubs including Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Florianópolis, Campinas and Recife. The hiring process can therefore be tailored to the role, seniority, language requirements and working-hours overlap a US team needs.

South’s Brazil guidance connects talent selection with the practicalities of employment, including CLT contracts, the 13th salary and vacation costs. Beyond EOR, it provides recruiting and talent assessment, with benefits administration supporting employee retention as the team grows. This combination is useful for employers looking for help both finding Brazilian talent and managing the employment relationship.

Talent sourcing
Recruitment, candidate assessment and benefits support

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Recruitment and EOR are connected within the same service proposition, which suits an employer entering Brazil without its own sourcing team. The provider can help identify candidates and then coordinate the employment and payroll work needed for their start.
  • Knowledge of several Brazilian technology hubs broadens the search beyond São Paulo. Employers can compare talent by experience, specialism and availability while designing a team that can collaborate effectively with US colleagues.
  • Its nearshoring focus aligns recruiting with practical collaboration needs, including language, communication and working hours. That matters for Brazilian employees expected to participate in customer calls, stand-ups and product work with overseas teams.
  • The employment service includes payroll, benefits and termination administration alongside recruitment. This gives clients ongoing support after placement and helps connect the offer made to a candidate with the employment package delivered in Brazil.

✗ Watch out for

  • A recruitment-led service needs a clear commercial split between finding the candidate and employing them. Compare placement charges, replacement terms, recurring EOR fees and benefits costs, especially if you will later supply some candidates yourself.
  • Talent availability varies by city, seniority and English requirements. A narrow search for specialised Brazilian developers with extensive US-team experience may require a longer hiring timetable or a higher salary than a broad regional benchmark suggests.

TekRecruiter

TekRecruiter combines technology recruitment with EOR employment for nearshore engineers in Brazil. With a US presence including Miami and a São Paulo operation, it connects overseas employers with software, data, AI, cloud and DevOps professionals, then manages the employment and payment relationship. Its technical staffing background is particularly useful for businesses that want candidate assessment and local employment support in the same engagement.

Beyond EOR, TekRecruiter offers direct hiring, staff augmentation, contract-to-hire and executive search. In Brazil, the nearshore service focuses on engineers who can work closely with US teams, combining technical screening, English-language communication and an understanding of product development.

TekRecruiter’s expertise in nearshore engineering recruitment and EOR employment is demonstrated through the Norton case study on its website. TekRecruiter filled more than ten software and DevOps roles for an application-modernisation and AWS programme, including five Latin American nearshore engineers employed through its EOR service. The engagement combined nearshore staffing, US staff augmentation and direct hiring, with Morgan O’Conner, Engineering Manager at Norton, as the named client representative.

For a company building a Brazilian engineering team, the case illustrates the value of bringing technical recruitment, flexible delivery models and employment administration together around a project’s requirements.

Norton
Five nearshore EOR engineers within a 10+ role engagement

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Brazilian engineering recruitment and EOR employment are combined, so clients can evaluate candidates and arrange ongoing employment within one engagement. This is useful when an expansion depends on filling technically demanding roles rather than simply processing an existing hire.
  • The São Paulo operation provides a local base for a service organised around US nearshoring. Technical screening and English-language assessment can help clients build Brazilian teams that participate directly in product delivery and engineering discussions.
  • Norton demonstrates experience assembling a mixed delivery model around an application-modernisation programme. The combination of EOR nearshore engineers, staff augmentation and direct hiring is relevant to businesses whose Brazilian team must fit into a larger engineering organisation.
  • Specialisation in software, data, AI, cloud and DevOps gives the recruitment discussion a clear technical focus. Employers can align the search with architecture, tooling and project requirements before moving successful candidates into the employment process.

✗ Watch out for

  • The service is most closely aligned with technical hiring. A Brazilian expansion requiring large numbers of general administrative, retail or manufacturing staff should assess whether the same recruiting and support model fits those roles.
  • Nearshore staffing rates can bundle recruitment and employment costs. Ask for the cost structure, expected working hours, overtime treatment and terms for moving an engineer into direct employment so comparisons with a standalone EOR fee are meaningful.

TopSource Worldwide

TopSource Worldwide supports Brazilian employment through EOR, payroll and ongoing employment administration, with a wider service range for companies entering and expanding internationally. It is a useful fit for employers placing a small number of specialised staff in Brazil as part of a broader commercial or operational expansion.

Beyond EOR, its services include global payroll, talent acquisition, entity setup and management, mobility, and HR and benefits advice. These capabilities allow a business to connect its initial hiring requirements with the longer-term work of establishing and running a local operation.

TopSource Worldwide’s expertise in Brazilian hiring and expansion is demonstrated through the Cortland International case study on its website. The manufacturer of advanced ropes, slings and tethers needed skilled employees across several markets. TopSource enabled it to employ and pay professionals in Brazil and other countries through EOR and payroll services, supporting growth before Cortland had its own local entities.

Brian Boyce’s account of the partnership emphasises dependable employee payments and support. The engagement achieved accurate, on-time payroll after the transition, showing the operational value of coordinating employment administration across a distributed international team.

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Cortland International is a named example of employees being hired and paid in Brazil through an international EOR and payroll engagement. It is particularly relevant to employers placing a few specialised professionals in the country to support wider growth.
  • EOR and payroll services can support different stages of a Brazilian expansion: initial employment before an entity is ready and payroll administration once the business has its own operation. The broader entity-services offering can help coordinate that plan.
  • Talent acquisition, mobility and benefits advice extend the relationship beyond monthly payroll. This is useful when the Brazilian hiring project includes recruitment, relocation or the design of an employment package for a specialised role.
  • The Cortland engagement connects payroll reliability with market expansion. For organisations with employees spread across several countries, a coordinated service can reduce the administrative burden of managing separate local payroll relationships.

✗ Watch out for

  • A broad expansion engagement can include several chargeable workstreams. Separate Brazilian EOR employment, recruitment, mobility, entity setup and ongoing accounting or administration in the proposal so you can compare both initial and recurring costs.
  • For a very small Brazil-only team, some of the wider international and entity-management services may be unnecessary. Choose the scope around actual headcount and expansion milestones rather than committing to a full package at the outset.

Vistra

Vistra combines EOR employment with extensive Brazilian corporate, tax and payroll services. Its local team supports international businesses entering Brazil and managing an established operation, making it especially relevant when hiring is part of a wider incorporation, governance or investment project.

Alongside employment and payroll administration, its Brazil services cover company formation, accounting, tax compliance, financial administration and corporate governance. This gives businesses access to the functions needed to move from initial local hires to a fully operating Brazilian company.

That operational depth has grown through acquisitions. Vistra’s 2021 acquisition of São Paulo-based Jotaerre added specialised expertise in Brazilian services-tax calculation, collection and payment. The integration strengthened its ability to manage the detailed local administrative requirements that accompany expansion.

The acquisition of Biz Latin Hub, completed in 2025, further expanded the group’s Latin American footprint, bringing a business with São Paulo operations and hiring services into the organisation. Together, these capabilities make Vistra a substantial option for companies seeking Brazilian employment support alongside a broader market-entry and corporate-services relationship.

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • A substantial Brazilian corporate-services operation supports employment within the wider demands of running a local business. This is useful for expansion teams that need accounting, tax and governance work coordinated with payroll and employee administration.
  • The Jotaerre acquisition adds a clear strand of Brazilian tax expertise. Companies establishing operations across municipalities can benefit from a provider familiar with the administrative complexity surrounding local business activity.
  • Biz Latin Hub broadens the regional service relationship around Brazil, combining Latin American market-entry capabilities with Vistra’s international infrastructure. This suits businesses whose Brazilian hiring is one part of an Americas expansion.
  • Entity setup, ongoing corporate administration and employment services provide scope to plan beyond the first hires. A client can evaluate how its payroll, governance and accounting needs will evolve as the Brazilian operation becomes more substantial.

✗ Watch out for

  • Vistra’s breadth is most useful when hiring accompanies a wider corporate-services requirement. For a company seeking only one straightforward Brazilian EOR hire, compare the proposed service structure and account-management arrangements with a more narrowly focused employment service.
  • Employment, incorporation, tax and accounting can involve separate engagements and delivery teams. Agree responsibilities, escalation routes and a consolidated implementation timetable so the Brazilian employee start date aligns with the rest of the expansion project.

WideBrazil / Wide LATAM

WideBrazil is a Brazilian-owned EOR and expansion consultancy built by Brazilian co-founders José Roberto Araujo Filho and Geovana Rocha. Its São Paulo-area roots shape a service centred on helping international companies hire and operate locally. Through its own Brazilian business, it manages employment contracts, payroll, benefits and ongoing employee support.

Its services extend well beyond EOR: recruitment, payroll outsourcing, staffing, nearshoring, company formation, accounting and tax, business-process outsourcing, and work-visa and relocation support. This range suits employers that want a local partner able to support both their people and the practical work of building a Brazilian operation.

The founders’ local perspective is reflected in a tailored approach to expansion, connecting candidate selection and employment with the administrative requirements of the client’s business. The service can develop from a first employee into a larger team and a broader in-country operation.

WideBrazil is the group’s Brazil-focused operation, while Wide LATAM supports its wider regional identity. Brazilian enquiries are directed to WideBrazil, and the related brands are presented together as one provider.

Scope employment and additional expansion services together.

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Brazilian co-founders and a locally owned operation give the service a strong in-country perspective. This is useful for international employers who want help interpreting employment practices, communicating with their team and organising the practical steps of entering Brazil.
  • Employment, recruitment and payroll services sit alongside incorporation, accounting and tax support. An employer can therefore discuss the whole Brazilian operating plan, including the move from a first EOR hire to a larger local presence.
  • Work-visa, relocation, staffing and nearshoring services extend the range of hiring scenarios it can support. This is helpful when a Brazilian team includes both locally recruited staff and people moving into the country for an expansion project.
  • The Brazil-focused operation provides a clear destination for Brazilian enquiries within the wider Wide LATAM group. Buyers can combine a local service relationship with discussion of regional growth while keeping their Brazilian employment requirements central.

✗ Watch out for

  • A bespoke expansion package needs an itemised scope: EOR, recruitment, payroll outsourcing, tax work and incorporation have different deliverables and cost structures. Set out what is included monthly and which projects will be billed separately.
  • The strongest fit is a business prioritising Brazil or Latin America. A company wanting a single employment platform across many unrelated regions should compare its wider coverage and systems requirements alongside the value of the Brazilian local-service model.

Work Group International (WGI)

Work Group International (WGI) is a Brazilian accounting, audit and corporate-services firm founded by Brazilian accountant Seres Baum, with its company established in São Paulo in 2016. Its EOR service supports foreign businesses employing people in Brazil, combining employment administration with local payroll, tax and benefits support.

The firm’s broader offering includes company incorporation, legal representation, accounting, audit, tax advice and ongoing business administration. This makes WGI particularly relevant when a Brazilian hiring project is part of a wider investment or operating plan and the client wants employment matters considered alongside corporate and financial obligations.

Seres Baum, the founder and managing partner, brings extensive cross-border advisory and accounting experience to that work. WGI’s membership of the GGI network connects its Brazilian practice with an international professional-services community, supporting conversations that span the client’s home country and its Brazilian operation.

Its presence across São Paulo, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Goiânia and Salvador adds local depth for companies developing teams and business activities in different parts of Brazil. The combination of employment support and corporate administration makes it a useful shortlist option for employers seeking an ongoing Brazilian professional-services relationship.

Combine employment with the corporate-services scope required.

✓ Strengths in Brazil

  • Brazilian accounting, tax and corporate-services experience gives WGI a useful perspective on how employment fits into a wider local operation. This is relevant when overseas management needs help coordinating people, reporting and business administration in Brazil.
  • Its EOR service can sit alongside incorporation and legal representation, allowing a client to plan both initial hiring and a later corporate presence. That breadth is useful for businesses whose expansion requires more than payroll processing alone.
  • Five Brazilian office locations provide a broader domestic footprint than a service organised around a single city. This can be valuable when the company’s employees, commercial activities or professional advisers are spread across different Brazilian regions.
  • Founder-led expertise and GGI membership connect local execution with cross-border professional-services knowledge. International clients can discuss employment and expansion alongside accounting, audit and governance requirements with a Brazilian advisory team.

✗ Watch out for

  • WGI’s offering centres on professional services, so employers with extensive HR-system requirements should include integrations, self-service access and management reporting in the scope. Define how employee data and payroll results will reach the overseas HR and finance teams.
  • A combined EOR and advisory engagement should distinguish employment administration from audit, incorporation, legal representation and tax projects. Agree the lead contact, monthly deliverables and responsibility for employee questions so the broader relationship remains easy to manage.

RemotePeople Global2018Antoine Boquen, Pierre PradierBrazil — nationwide coverage; city presence not establishedRemotePeople is a US-headquartered global EOR that employs through its own entity in Brazil.

Rippling2016Parker Conrad, Prasanna SankarBrazil — nationwide coverage; city presence not establishedRippling brings Brazilian EOR employment together with HR, payroll and IT administration.

Roots EOR2018Juan Alfonso Kennedy, Horacio RepresasBrazil (local team; current city address unverified)RootsEOR specialises in Latin America, with direct operations in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Uruguay. Vistra / Biz Latin Hub Global1986UnknownSão PauloVistra combines EOR employment with extensive Brazilian corporate, tax and payroll services.

WGIUnknownUnknownSão PauloWork Group International (WGI) is a Brazilian accounting, audit and corporate-services firm founded by Brazilian accountant Seres Baum, with its company established in São Paulo in 2016.

Wide BrazilUnknownJosé Roberto, Geovana RochaBarueri (São Paulo metro)WideBrazil is a Brazilian-owned EOR and expansion consultancy built by Brazilian co-founders José Roberto Araujo Filho and Geovana Rocha.
