UK profile
Revolut’s story began in London, where Nik Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko built a business around making cross-border money simpler and less expensive, launching from the Level39 community in Canary Wharf in 2015. Those British roots remain central to the group: its UK bank received full authorisation in March 2026, and the following month Revolut Business launched GlobalHire with an explicit initial focus on helping British businesses expand internationally. GlobalHire carries that original currency-exchange idea into employment by connecting global salary funding with partner-delivered EOR services through the Revolut Business platform. UK hiring is included, with fees from £499 per employee per month; Revolut Ltd operates the platform while an independent EOR partner employs the worker.
Revolut GlobalHire is an Employer of Record platform launched by Revolut Business in April 2026. The contracting party is Revolut Ltd (Companies House 08804411, incorporated 6 December 2013, registered office 30 South Colonnade, London E14 5HX), which is wholly controlled by Revolut Group Holdings Ltd and whose board includes co-founder and CEO Nikolay Storonskiy. Revolut's own role is limited to the software platform, initial identity checks on the worker and invoicing: its terms state that a third-party EOR partner is the legal employer and that the client has no contractual relationship with it. The partner is not named on the website or in the terms, so the UK employing entity cannot be checked on Companies House.
The United Kingdom is listed among covered countries, but there is no UK country page and nothing UK-specific is published on contract types, PAYE, National Insurance, auto-enrolment or optional benefits; the terms call workers 'Consultants'. Revolut Ltd itself appears on the Home Office register of licensed sponsors (Skilled Worker, A rating), but that licence covers Revolut's own staff, not GlobalHire hires employed by the partner. A $250 work-permit fee applies to non-citizen hires; sponsorship is not described.
Pricing is published in the terms: £499 per employee per month ($599 / €599), charged for whole calendar months, plus an offboarding fee of one month's fee on every exit, a further month's fee if the worker leaves within three months, and employment costs at cost. A late-payment charge of 0.15% per day applies after five days. The security deposit is waived for eligible Revolut Business customers. Revolut quotes 2 to 5 days' average onboarding (provider claim). GlobalHire has no G2 listing of its own.

Services in the UK
| Employer of Record (via partner) | An unnamed third-party EOR partner becomes the legal employer of the UK worker, verifies right to work, issues a locally compliant contract and handles onboarding, offboarding and terminations. Revolut Ltd supplies the platform, carries out initial identity verification and acts as the client's single point of contact; the client has no contract with the EoR. The client must disclose any UK entity of its own, as the EoR may refuse or end an engagement on permanent-establishment grounds. |
| Payroll and statutory administration | The partner runs payroll, withholds and remits taxes and administers social security, pension and statutory benefits. Employment costs are estimated on the platform and invoiced at cost. Revolut has not published how UK PAYE, National Insurance or auto-enrolment pension are handled. |
| Salary funding and FX | One consolidated invoice is issued on the 24th of each month in GBP, EUR or USD and charged on the 25th. Revolut Business customers can convert salaries in-house at interbank rates within their plan allowance during market hours, which Revolut says saves up to 5% against other EORs' exchange rates (provider claim, based on a sample from October 2025 to February 2026). |
| Contracts and IP protection | Contracts include IP and confidentiality clauses under a single global framework adapted to local law (provider claim). Changes to role, salary or location and any on-site work must be approved by the EoR through the platform; the client may not pay or give benefits to the worker directly. |
| Benefits | The FAQ says optional benefits are included and that the partners' local experts advise on what is mandatory and optional. No UK optional benefits, such as private medical insurance, are listed. |
| Work permits | A $250 work-permit fee applies where the worker's citizenship differs from the hiring country. Visa sponsorship is not described, and the partner's sponsor licence status is not published. |
| Terminations | The partner runs terminations under local law. The client pays all termination costs, including notice pay, severance, accrued holiday and legal fees, plus Revolut's offboarding fee and, within three months of the start, an early-termination fee. Revolut may recover unpaid termination costs by set-off, debt collection or legal proceedings. |
Strengths and watch-outs in the UK

- ✓ Revolut quotes an average onboarding time of 2 to 5 days, measured on customers from October 2025 to March 2026, and waives the security deposit for eligible Revolut Business customers.
- ✓ Salary conversion through a Revolut Business account at interbank rates within the plan allowance avoids the FX mark-up many EORs build into payroll funding.
- ✓ The platform operator, Revolut Ltd, is a long-established, FCA-authorised UK company with a published board and a verifiable Companies House record.
- ✓ The terms set out responsibilities plainly, covering who the legal employer is, permanent-establishment disclosure, on-site work approval and which termination costs fall on the client.
- ✗ The UK legal employer is an unnamed third-party partner, so its Companies House record, sponsor licence and agency-law status cannot be checked before signing.
- ✗ No UK-specific information is published on contract types, PAYE, National Insurance, auto-enrolment, statutory pay or optional benefits.
- ✗ Exit costs are high: every offboarding costs one month's fee, two months within the first three months, and the start month is charged in full.
- ✗ The service launched in April 2026 and has no G2 listing; the Revolut seller profile and Trustpilot scores relate to other Revolut products.
- ✗ Companies House showed Revolut Ltd's confirmation statement as overdue on 26 October 2026, and the service offers no contractor management, recruitment, entity setup or published security certifications.

Germany profile
Revolut GlobalHire is an Employer of Record (EOR) platform launched by Revolut Business on 15 April 2026. It is offered by Revolut Ltd, the London fintech's UK e-money company (England and Wales no. 08804411), and is aimed at companies that want to hire full-time staff abroad without a local entity. Revolut's role is limited to running the platform, verifying the hire's identity and managing the relationship with an unnamed third-party EOR partner; the terms state that Revolut Ltd does not act as an employer and that all employment services, payroll and statutory compliance are performed by its licensed partner.
Germany is not among the 70 countries listed on the GlobalHire page (the European list covers Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Moldova, Serbia, Sweden and Ukraine), and the FAQ refers to Germany only as an example of where a client might be based. No German employing entity is named, the partner is not identified and neither Revolut nor the partner is said to hold a licence for employee leasing (Arbeitnehmerüberlassung) from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit. Revolut's own German registration is a bank branch, Revolut Bank UAB Zweigniederlassung Deutschland (HRB 249024 B, Amtsgericht Charlottenburg, Berlin), whose registered purpose is financial services, not employment. Where the service is available, the partner issues the employment contract, runs payroll, withholds and remits taxes and administers social security, pension and statutory and voluntary benefits; the client approves changes of role or pay through the platform and must request approval before any on-site work.
The published fee is £499, €599 or $599 per employee per month (double in Saudi Arabia and Qatar), charged for full calendar months without pro-rating, plus a one-month offboarding fee on every exit and a further one-month early-termination fee if the hire leaves within three months. Revolut quotes an average onboarding time of 2 to 5 days and says it can onboard in as little as one business day in most countries. The security deposit is waived for eligible Revolut Business customers and salaries can be converted at Revolut's business exchange rate within plan allowances. There is no G2 profile for GlobalHire; the Revolut seller page on G2 shows 4.1/5 from 69 reviews that relate to Revolut People (its HR software) and the Revolut business account, not to the EOR service.
Germany facts
| German employing entity | Not published. GlobalHire is a platform operated by Revolut Ltd (London); the terms state that an unnamed third-party Employer of Record partner is the legal employer and that Revolut Ltd does not act as an employer. Germany does not appear in the list of 70 countries published on the GlobalHire page, so no German employing entity has been identified. |
| Commercial register | No German EOR entity is published. Revolut's own German registration is Revolut Bank UAB, Zweigniederlassung Deutschland, HRB 249024 B, Amtsgericht Charlottenburg (Berlin), LEI 984500B51DA59678DA35; its registered purpose is banking and financial services, not employment or employee leasing. The platform operator, Revolut Ltd, is registered in England and Wales under company number 08804411. |
| Registered office | Revolut Bank UAB, Zweigniederlassung Deutschland: Unter den Linden 40, 10117 Berlin. Revolut Ltd (GlobalHire operator): 30 South Colonnade, London E14 5HX, United Kingdom. |
| Founded | GlobalHire launched on 15 April 2026 (press coverage of the announcement). Revolut group founded in 2015 in London by Nik Storonsky and Vlad Yatsenko. The German bank branch was entered in the Berlin register on 17 January 2023. |
| Company status | Revolut Bank UAB, Zweigniederlassung Deutschland is an active registered branch of a Lithuanian bank (Revolut Bank UAB, Vilnius, registration no. 304580906), supervised by the Bank of Lithuania, the European Central Bank and, for the German branch, BaFin. Revolut Ltd is active and authorised by the UK Financial Conduct Authority as an e-money institution (FRN 900562); GlobalHire itself is stated to be unregulated. |
| Managing directors | German bank branch (register entries): Geschäftsführer Jakub Fast (entered 14 September 2026, replacing Joseph Heneghan); permanent representative (Ständiger Vertreter) Björn Hofmann (entered 10 November 2025). GlobalHire is led by Alex Codina, general manager of merchant payments and GlobalHire at Revolut. Group: Nik Storonsky, co-founder and CEO; Martin Gilbert, chair. Managing directors of the EOR partner: Not published. |
| AÜG licence | Not published. Revolut says it delivers employment through 'licensed' EOR partners but does not name the partner, the country of licensing or the type of licence, and makes no reference to an Erlaubnis zur Arbeitnehmerüberlassung from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, the 18-month maximum assignment period or equal-pay rules. The business terms separately prohibit the client from sub-leasing or lending the hire to any third party. |
| Contract types | Full-time employment contracts issued by the EOR partner and described as locally compliant; the platform refers to hires as 'Consultants'. Fixed-term, part-time and other contract types are not specified. GlobalHire does not offer contractor management; its FAQ warns that engaging a full-time worker under the client's direction as a contractor carries misclassification risk (Scheinselbständigkeit in German law). |
| Payroll and statutory | The EOR partner processes payroll and tax filings, withholds and remits taxes and administers social security, pension and statutory benefits; employment costs (payroll taxes, social security contributions, mandatory insurance and statutory benefits) are passed through as a variable item shown as an estimate on the platform and finalised on the monthly invoice. German wage tax (Lohnsteuer) and the five social insurance branches are not addressed specifically because Germany is not a listed country. |
| Compliance services stated | Right-to-work verification, initial identity checks by Revolut, locally compliant contracts with IP and confidentiality clauses under a single global framework, approval of changes to role, scope or salary by the EOR, prior approval for on-site work, compliant terminations with notice, severance, final pay and documentation, and a client duty to disclose any local entity because of permanent-establishment risk. Works council (Betriebsrat) and co-determination matters are not mentioned. |
| Optional benefits | The FAQ lists 'optional benefits included' and says the partner's local experts guide the client on mandatory and optional benefits; the terms state the EOR administers statutory and voluntary benefits. No specific supplementary plans are published. |
| Other services in Germany | None published for Germany. Platform-wide: salary payments converted in-house through Revolut Business at the business exchange rate within plan allowance during market hours (Revolut claims savings of up to 5% against other EORs), a single consolidated monthly invoice, employee time-off requests and timesheets on the platform, and support for work-permit cases at $250 per hire. |
| Stated onboarding time | 2 to 5 days on average for GlobalHire customers between October 2025 and March 2026, and as little as one business day in most countries once the hire has uploaded documents and signed the contract (provider claim). |
| Entry price | £499, €599 or $599 per employee per month (£999, €1,199 or $1,199 in Saudi Arabia and Qatar), invoiced in GBP, EUR or USD and charged for the full calendar month in which a hire starts, with no pro-rating. Additional fees: offboarding fee of one monthly fee on every exit; early-termination fee of a further monthly fee if the hire is offboarded within the first three months; $250 work-permit fee; employment costs at cost. Invoices issued on the 24th and charged on the 25th of each month; late payment penalty of 0.15% per day with a minimum of 1.5% of the unpaid invoice. Fees exclude VAT. The security deposit is waived for eligible Revolut Business customers subject to internal assessment; the website says the waiver keeps one to three months' cash free, implying a deposit of that size otherwise. |
| Security certifications (group) | Not published for GlobalHire. The terms name Google Cloud (UK and EU) as data host and the privacy notice refers to HTTPS encryption, access controls and staff training; no ISO 27001 or SOC 2 statement was found on the pages reviewed. |
| Provider Germany page | No Germany page exists. German-language product page: https://www.revolut.com/de-DE/business/globalhire/ (same content as the UK page, priced at €599). |
Services in Germany
| Employer of Record (via partner) | An unnamed licensed third-party EOR partner employs the hire, issues a locally compliant employment contract, verifies the right to work, runs payroll, withholds and remits taxes and administers statutory and voluntary benefits. Revolut provides the platform, carries out initial identity checks and acts as the client's single point of contact; the client has no contract with the partner. Germany is not on the published list of 70 supported countries. |
| Country coverage | The GlobalHire page lists 12 European countries (Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Bulgaria, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Moldova, Serbia, Sweden, Ukraine), 17 in the Americas, 25 in Asia Pacific and 16 in Africa. Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Poland and Switzerland are not listed. Pre-launch reporting referred to 160 countries, which does not match the live list. |
| Onboarding and offboarding | The client enters the hire's details, the platform generates the contract, and the hire uploads documents and signs; Revolut quotes an average of 2 to 5 days and as little as one business day. Terminations are handled by the partner under local law with step-by-step guidance; the client pays all termination costs (notice pay, severance, accrued leave, legal fees) plus a one-month offboarding fee. |
| Payroll funding and FX | Revolut issues one consolidated monthly invoice covering salary, employment costs, benefits and the service fee, in GBP, EUR or USD, on the 24th of the month and charges the saved payment method on the 25th. Clients paying from a Revolut Business account have salaries converted to the hire's currency in-house at Revolut's business exchange rate within plan allowance during market hours, which Revolut says avoids the FX markups charged by other EORs. |
| Deposit waiver | Revolut waives the security deposit for eligible Revolut Business customers after an internal assessment, which it says keeps one to three months' cash free; clients who do not qualify are not told the deposit amount on the website. |
| Benefits administration | Statutory benefits (healthcare, retirement, paid leave, social security) are administered by the partner in line with local law, and optional benefits are available with guidance from the partner's local experts. Benefit summaries, payslips, time-off requests and timesheets are shown to the hire on the platform. |
| Intellectual property and confidentiality | Contracts include IP and confidentiality clauses under a single global framework; the partner obtains an IP assignment from the hire in favour of Revolut, which in turn assigns the rights to the client and will assist with any further formalities at the client's expense. |
| Engagement controls | Changes to a hire's role, scope or salary must be approved by the partner through the platform; the client must request approval before any on-site work, must not sub-lease or lend the hire to a third party, and must disclose any legal entity it has in the hiring country because the partner may refuse or end the engagement on permanent-establishment grounds. |
| Client eligibility and support | Only incorporated companies may sign up, with or without a Revolut Business account; charities, trusts, non-profits, shell companies and a list of restricted sectors are excluded. Support and complaints go through the GlobalHire dashboard or [email protected], and complaints about the partner's services are passed on to the partner. |
Strengths and watch-outs in Germany
- ✓ Pricing is published in full: a flat £499, €599 or $599 per employee per month together with every additional fee (offboarding, early termination, work permit), invoicing dates and late-payment terms, which few EOR providers set out on a public page.
- ✓ Salary funding and currency conversion run through the client's Revolut Business account at Revolut's business exchange rate within plan allowance, and Revolut states this saves up to 5% against the FX markups charged by other EORs.
- ✓ The security deposit is waived for eligible Revolut Business customers, whereas many EOR providers require one to three months of employment cost up front.
- ✓ Revolut quotes an average onboarding time of 2 to 5 days measured over October 2025 to March 2026, and as little as one business day in most countries.
- ✓ The platform operator is a large, regulated group (Revolut Ltd is FCA-authorised; the group reports 800,000+ business customers and 10,000+ employees) with a registered German bank branch, which gives the service a verifiable corporate backing even though the EOR partner is not named.
- ✗ Germany is not among the 70 countries listed on the GlobalHire page, so a company wanting to employ staff in Germany cannot currently rely on this service; the FAQ mentions Germany only as an example of where a client might be headquartered.
- ✗ The legal employer is an unnamed third-party partner, and Revolut publishes nothing about whether that partner holds an AÜG licence from the Bundesagentur für Arbeit, which is required for employee leasing in Germany; Revolut's terms also exclude its liability for anything the partner does or fails to do.
- ✗ Every exit costs a one-month offboarding fee, and an exit within the first three months costs a further month, on top of fees charged for full calendar months with no pro-rating, so a short engagement can cost three monthly fees for one month of work.
- ✗ No independent reviews of the EOR service exist: there is no G2 profile for GlobalHire, the Revolut seller page's 69 reviews concern other products, and the only customer statement is a testimonial on Revolut's own page.
- ✗ Several buyer-relevant details are not published, including the size of the deposit for clients who do not qualify for the waiver, which contract types beyond full-time employment are supported, any information security certification, and the partner's managing directors or registered office.
Reviews
- No G2 product profile exists for Revolut GlobalHire. The Revolut seller page on G2 (read 8 October 2026) shows an average of 4.1/5 from 69 reviews across two profiles, Revolut People (48 reviews, HR and performance software) and the Revolut business account (21 reviews); none of these reviews concern the EOR service and no Germany-related EOR review was found.
- The most recent reviews on the Revolut seller page (September 2026) praise Revolut People's performance-review module and customer success team, with one reviewer noting the system 'can be on the more complex side at times'. These relate to a different product from GlobalHire.
- The only customer statement about GlobalHire itself is a testimonial on Revolut's own page from the finance director of Desucla, who says onboarding is quick and that the client can see where each hire is in the process. An independent review by the competing provider Alcor (30 April 2026) states that no Revolut EOR reviews had been published at that date.
Reviews are reported as found and are not verified by the directory. No independent reviews of the GlobalHire EOR service were found; the G2 figures relate to other Revolut products and the one testimonial is published by the provider.

It is convenient for existing Revolut Business users, but the legal employer, its NIPC and its temporary-work agency status should be confirmed before signing.

Global profile
Revolut GlobalHire is the Employer of Record service of Revolut, the London fintech founded in July 2015 by Nik Storonsky (CEO) and Vlad Yatsenko. The service launched publicly on 15 April 2026, and its onboarding statistics date from October 2025. It is offered by Revolut Ltd (Companies House 08804411, incorporated 6 December 2013, 30 South Colonnade, London E14 5HX), which is controlled by Revolut Group Holdings Ltd. The group is privately held. A 2025 share sale valued it at $75bn, and a July 2026 secondary sale implied about $115bn (reported).
GlobalHire has no employing entities of its own. Its terms say Revolut's role is limited to the software platform, initial identity checks and managing the relationship. A third-party EoR is the legal employer, the client has no contractual relationship with it, and Revolut Ltd does not act as an employer. The partner or partners are not named. The product page lists 70 countries across Europe, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Africa without a total, and Germany, France and Spain are not among them. Clients pay salaries from a Revolut Business account, and Revolut claims up to 5% savings on currency conversion within plan allowances.
Pricing is published: £499, $599 or €599 per employee per month (double in Saudi Arabia and Qatar), charged for whole calendar months. A one-month offboarding fee applies to every exit, plus a further month if the hire leaves within three months, and work permits cost $250. The deposit is waived for eligible Revolut Business customers. There is no contractor or payroll-only product and no published SOC 2 or ISO 27001 for GlobalHire. Revolut quotes 2 to 5 days' average onboarding (provider claim). It suits existing Revolut Business users hiring in the listed countries who accept an unnamed partner as employer.

Services in Global
| Employer of Record (partner-delivered) | Revolut's licensed third-party partners employ the hire in the listed countries. They draft locally compliant contracts with IP and confidentiality clauses, process payroll and tax filings, administer social security, pension and statutory benefits and handle compliant terminations. Revolut runs the platform and initial identity checks. The fee is £499 / $599 / €599 per employee per month. |
| Salary funding and FX through Revolut Business | Monthly invoices are paid from the client's Revolut Business account, and Revolut converts salaries into local currency in-house at its business exchange rate. It claims up to 5% savings against other EORs' conversion fees, within plan allowances and during market hours. |
| Fast onboarding for Revolut Business customers | Linking a Revolut Business account syncs company details and skips identity checks. Revolut reports average onboarding of 2 to 5 days for customers from October 2025 to March 2026 and as little as one business day in most countries (provider claims). |
| Leave, time-off and lifecycle management | The platform handles time-off and leave requests, approvals of role, scope or pay changes by the EoR, prior approval for on-site work and offboarding workflows, with one consolidated monthly invoice. |
| Work permits | Work-permit cases for hires whose citizenship differs from the hiring country cost $250 each. Sponsorship details and processing times are not published. |
Strengths and watch-outs in Global
- ✓ Prices are published in the terms: £499 / $599 / €599 per employee per month with no long-term contract, plus an itemised list of extra fees.
- ✓ Existing Revolut Business customers can have the security deposit waived (subject to assessment) and skip the setup and identity checks.
- ✓ Salary funding and currency conversion sit in the same Revolut Business account, with claimed savings of up to 5% on FX within plan allowances.
- ✓ Revolut reports average onboarding of 2 to 5 days (provider claim).
- ✓ Backed by a large, well-capitalised and regulated fintech group (Revolut Ltd is an FCA-authorised e-money institution), although GlobalHire itself is unregulated.
- ✗ Revolut does not employ anyone. The legal employer is an unnamed third-party partner with which the client has no contract, so the employing entity in each country cannot be checked on a register.
- ✗ Coverage is narrow for a global provider: 70 countries are listed, and major markets such as Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Poland are missing.
- ✗ Exits are expensive: a one-month offboarding fee on every exit, a further month if the hire leaves within three months, full-month billing in the start month and a $250 work-permit fee.
- ✗ There is no contractor, Contractor of Record or payroll-only product, and no SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification is published for GlobalHire.
- ✗ New product (launched April 2026) with no independent review listing for the EOR service itself.

South Africa profile
Revolut GlobalHire is the Employer of Record service of Revolut, the London fintech founded in July 2015 by Nik Storonsky (CEO) and Vlad Yatsenko. It launched publicly in April 2026 and is offered by Revolut Ltd (Companies House 08804411, 30 South Colonnade, London E14 5HX). South Africa appears in the Africa section of the GlobalHire country list, alongside Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Nigeria and others, but there is no South Africa country page and nothing South Africa-specific is published.
GlobalHire has no employing entities of its own. Its terms and website say all employment services are delivered by unnamed licensed third-party EOR partners, that the client has no contractual relationship with the partner, and that Revolut Ltd does not act as an employer. The South African employing entity, its CIPC registration number, its address and whether it operates as a Temporary Employment Service (TES) under section 198 of the Labour Relations Act could therefore not be identified or verified. Nothing is published on PAYE, UIF, SDL, COIDA, bargaining-council obligations or critical skills work visa sponsorship in South Africa.
Pricing is published: £499, $599 or €599 per employee per month, charged for whole calendar months, with a one-month offboarding fee on every exit, a further month if the hire leaves within three months, and a $250 work-permit fee for non-citizen hires. The security deposit is waived for eligible Revolut Business customers. Revolut quotes 2 to 5 days' average onboarding (provider claim). There is no contractor or payroll-only product. GlobalHire has no G2 or HelloPeter listing of its own, and Revolut's Trustpilot score covers its banking app. It suits Revolut Business users who accept an unnamed partner as the South African employer.

Services in South Africa
| Employer of Record (partner-delivered) | Revolut provides the platform, identity checks, invoicing and the client relationship, while an unnamed licensed third-party EOR partner employs the South African worker, issues the contract and runs payroll and compliance. The client has no contract with the partner, and the South African employing entity is not disclosed, so its CIPC registration, TES status and address cannot be checked. |
| Payroll and salary funding from Revolut Business | Salaries and fees are invoiced to the client's Revolut Business account, with a single consolidated invoice issued on the 24th and charged on the 25th. Revolut converts funds to the local currency in-house and claims savings of up to 5% on conversion within plan allowances during market hours (provider claim). |
| Statutory benefits and leave administration | The FAQ states that partners administer paid time off, leave requests, social security, pension and statutory benefits under local law. No South African detail is given on UIF, SDL, COIDA, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act leave entitlements or medical aid. |
| Onboarding and offboarding | The client enters hire details on the platform, the partner generates a locally compliant contract and the employee uploads documents and signs. Revolut quotes 2 to 5 days on average. Terminations follow local notice and severance rules with step-by-step guidance; each exit costs one month's fee, plus another month within the first three months. |
| Work permits | A $250 fee applies where the hire's citizenship differs from the hiring country. Revolut does not describe how a South African critical skills work visa or other permit would be sponsored, or which entity would act as sponsor. |
| IP and confidentiality protection | Contracts include IP and confidentiality clauses under a single global framework so that work product is assigned to the client; sub-leasing the worker to third parties is prohibited and on-site work requires EoR approval under the terms. |
Strengths and watch-outs in South Africa
- ✓ Pricing is published in full, including the monthly fee, offboarding and early-termination fees, the work-permit fee and late-payment interest, which few South African EOR offerings disclose.
- ✓ The security deposit is waived for eligible Revolut Business customers, which can free one to three months of cash compared with providers that require a deposit.
- ✓ Salaries are funded and converted from a Revolut Business account, with a claimed saving of up to 5% on currency conversion within plan allowances (provider claim).
- ✓ South Africa is one of about 70 countries listed, so clients can add South African hires on the same platform as hires in the UK, the Americas, Asia-Pacific and other African markets.
- ✓ Revolut Ltd is a large, FCA-authorised e-money institution with audited accounts on Companies House, so the platform operator itself is easy to verify.
- ✗ The South African employer is an unnamed third-party partner; its legal name, CIPC number, address, B-BBEE level and TES status under section 198 of the LRA cannot be checked, and the client has no contract with it.
- ✗ Nothing South Africa-specific is published on PAYE, UIF, SDL, COIDA, bargaining-council obligations, medical aid or contract types.
- ✗ The flat fee of $599 per month sits above many local South African providers, and every exit costs an extra month's fee, two months if the hire leaves within three months.
- ✗ No critical skills work visa sponsorship is described beyond a $250 work-permit fee.
- ✗ GlobalHire has no G2, Capterra or HelloPeter listing of its own, and Revolut's large Trustpilot rating reflects its banking app rather than the EOR service.
