Softlanding is a Lisbon market-entry firm founded by José Paiva that helps foreign companies start operating in Portugal and Spain, employing staff through its own local entities and offering outsourcing, visa support and recruitment around that. Portugal is its home market.

It is a local, relationship-led partner rather than a global platform. It publishes no pricing, onboarding timeline, NIPC or temporary-work agency licence on its site, and there are no public review-platform ratings, so the employing entity and terms should be confirmed in writing.

Spain profile

Softlanding is a Lisbon-based expansion and HR operations service for companies building teams in Portugal and Spain. It describes itself as a client's head of operations, HR chief and country manager in one. The website is operated by Brightwizard S.A. (Portuguese registration 510800467, Rua Braamcamp 9, Lisbon), incorporated in 2013 with share capital of EUR 84,733.06. Brightwizard was formerly the parent group of the tech recruiter Landing.Jobs, co-founded by José Paiva and Pedro Oliveira and sold to Damia Group Portugal in 2025. The site claims more than 12 years in the market, 30+ customers and 100+ relocations, and names Grover, OutSystems, Amyris and Synopsys as clients; most of the named case studies concern Portugal.

For Spain, Softlanding says it hires 'under our local entity', but it does not name a Spanish company or CIF. The directory found no Spanish company linked to Brightwizard on BORME-based registers, and no Softlanding or Brightwizard entry in the Ministry of Labour's register of authorised temporary-work agencies (ETT). Two Spanish companies with 'Softlanding' in their names, Softlanding Europa SL in Madrid and Movelabs Softlanding Iberia SL in Málaga, have unrelated owners. How Spanish employees are employed is therefore unverified and should be confirmed before signing.

Pricing is not published on the site. A 2023 proposal published online by a client project quoted EOR at 10% of monthly worker cost (minimum EUR 300, maximum EUR 600), Spanish visa support at EUR 2,000 per case and Spanish setup at EUR 2,500; these figures may be out of date. Services include EOR, Agent of Record for contractors, PEO payroll, customer-success recruitment, team augmentation and visa and relocation support. No G2, Trustpilot or Google review listing was found.

Strengths and watch-outs in Spain

  • ✓ Iberia specialist that combines EOR, contractor management, recruitment, setup and relocation, aimed at companies building a first team in Portugal or Spain.
  • ✓ A clear niche in customer-success hiring, with webinars and a talent report, plus team augmentation that promises shortlists within 48 hours.
  • ✓ Its pricing model, as shown in a 2023 client proposal, is simple and capped: 10% of worker cost with a EUR 300 minimum and EUR 600 maximum per month, plus fixed fees for visas and setup.
  • ✓ Recruitment pedigree through the Brightwizard group, former owner of Landing.Jobs, and named international clients including Grover, OutSystems, Amyris and Synopsys.
  • ✓ A phased expansion model, from EOR to PEO to own entity, helps clients plan the move from EOR to their own Spanish company.
  • ✗ The Spanish employing entity is not disclosed, and the directory found no Spanish company linked to Brightwizard or Softlanding and no ETT authorisation in the Ministry of Labour register, so the Spanish employment structure is unverified.
  • ✗ The service is Portugal-led: the legal operator, address, visa guidance and most case studies are Portuguese, and no Spanish office or Spain-specific case study is published.
  • ✗ No pricing on the website; the only figures found come from a 2023 proposal and may no longer apply.
  • ✗ Small operation, with 30+ customers claimed and 1-10 employees on a directory listing, and no G2, Trustpilot or Google reviews found to check service quality.
  • ✗ Two unrelated Spanish companies use the 'Softlanding' name, so buyers should check the exact contracting company named in any proposal.
